Dumpster Rental Cost & Pricing

Size, weight allowance, rental length and delivery distance are the four levers behind every flat-rate quote — here is how each one moves the number.

An FLL Dumpster Rental driver talking through delivery details with a homeowner in Fort Lauderdale

We get asked about cost on almost every call, and we always give a straight answer: a flat rate built from four variables, quoted to you directly before anything is delivered. What we will not do is publish a generic price list, because a real quote depends on specifics that a list can never capture accurately. This guide explains the structure behind the number, so when you call (754) 354-3921 you already understand what you are being quoted and why.

The flat rate, explained

Every container we deliver comes with a single flat rate that bundles delivery, the rental period, pickup, and disposal up to a set weight allowance. You are not billed separately for the truck roll, a dump fee, and a rental fee as three line items — it is one number, agreed before the container leaves our yard. That flat-rate structure is the industry standard for roll-off rental, and we quote it the same way every time: over the phone, based on your actual job, not a generic web form.

Variable one: container size

This is the most obvious lever. A 10 yard container costs less than a 40 yard container to deliver, haul, and dispose of, simply because there is more material and more truck capacity involved as size goes up. See our sizing guide for the full breakdown of all five sizes we run — 10, 15, 20, 30 and 40 yard — and note that getting the size right the first time is the single biggest lever you actually control in this conversation. An undersized container that needs a second haul costs more in total than sizing correctly up front.

Variable two: weight allowance

Every flat rate includes a weight allowance appropriate to the container size. This is where South Florida's building materials genuinely change the math compared to other regions. Concrete, stucco, tile, and roofing material are dense, and a container that looks half-empty can already be near its weight allowance if it is full of CBS demo debris. We factor expected material type into the quote up front specifically so the number we give you over the phone matches what actually happens at pickup, rather than surprising you with an overage charge later. If your job is concrete- or tile-heavy, say so when you call — it changes the recommendation, not just the price.

Variable three: rental period

Standard rental periods cover typical residential and small commercial jobs, and we build flexibility into that window rather than nickel-and-diming a strict daily clock. Longer jobs — a multi-week renovation, a new-construction project with staged debris — are priced for the realistic timeline of the work, not squeezed into a period that forces a rushed pickup or an awkward extension fee. If a job runs long, call us before the rental period ends rather than after; we would much rather adjust the plan proactively than have you worry about it.

Variable four: delivery distance

We are based near downtown Fort Lauderdale, and distance from our yard is a real factor for jobs at the edges of our service area. A delivery to Sailboat Bend or Victoria Park is a short hop; a delivery out toward Coral Springs, Tamarac, or Pompano Beach involves more drive time for our driver and more fuel for our truck, both of which are baked into the quote for that address. This is standard for any hauler with a physical yard rather than a dispatch network, and it is one more reason we quote by phone with your actual address rather than publishing one flat number for all of Broward County.

What is NOT a separate cost

A few things people expect to pay extra for are already included in our standard flat rate:

  • Driveway protection. Every drop includes boards or protective placement — this is not an upsell.
  • Delivery and pickup trips. Both are part of the rental, not billed as separate truck rolls.
  • Disposal up to the weight allowance. You are not paying a separate per-load dump fee on top of the flat rate.

What can add to a quote: exceeding the weight allowance, keeping the container significantly past the agreed rental period, or placing it somewhere our driver cannot safely access without extra time on site. We flag all of these possibilities up front rather than letting them show up as a surprise.

Why we do not publish a price list

A generic per-size price list looks convenient, but it is genuinely inaccurate for a market like ours. Two 20 yard container jobs in Fort Lauderdale can have very different real costs depending on whether the debris is light framing offcuts or dense stucco demo, and whether the address is five minutes from our yard or forty-five. A published list either overcharges the easy jobs to cover the hard ones, or undercharges the hard ones and creates overage disputes later. We would rather ask three questions and give you an accurate number than post a chart that is wrong half the time.

Seasonal demand and hurricane season

One more factor worth understanding honestly: demand shifts through the year. Atlantic hurricane season runs June through November, and both the run-up to a forecast storm and the debris cleanup afterward can compress our scheduling window. We do not treat storm season as a reason to change our pricing structure, but availability can tighten fast when a storm is approaching or has just passed, simply because everyone in Broward County wants a container at the same time. If you know a job is coming during hurricane season — a pre-storm property cleanup or a post-storm debris haul — calling early rather than waiting until the container is urgently needed gives you more control over both timing and size than a last-minute call during a regional rush. Our hurricane season cleanup guide goes into the timing side of this in more detail.

Flat rate versus a la carte competitors

Some haulers advertise a low base number, then add delivery, pickup, and a per-ton disposal fee separately, so the number you actually owe at the end has little resemblance to the number you were quoted. That structure works fine for the hauler and poorly for the customer, because it shifts the surprise to the end of the job instead of the start. We do the opposite: everything that is reasonably predictable — delivery, the rental window, pickup, disposal up to the weight allowance — is folded into one flat number before the truck leaves our yard. The only things that can add to that number are things genuinely outside a normal job: significant overage on weight, a rental period stretched well past what was agreed, or an access issue on site. We would rather explain those possibilities clearly up front than let them function as hidden fees later.

Commercial and contractor accounts

For contractors running multiple projects across Broward — a remodel in Davie this week, a new build in Coral Springs next — repeat scheduling and swap-outs are where the flat-rate structure really pays off. Instead of re-quoting from scratch on every container, a contractor with a standing relationship gets predictable pricing for predictable jobs, with swap-out timing built around the project schedule rather than a rigid calendar. If that describes your business, mention it when you call — we handle recurring commercial and construction accounts differently than a one-off residential cleanout, and it is worth setting up as a standing arrangement rather than negotiating fresh every time.

How to get an accurate quote fast

Call (754) 354-3921 and be ready to answer:

  • What kind of material is going in — renovation debris, yard waste, general household junk, roofing material, new-construction scraps?
  • Roughly how much volume — one room, a full house, a job site's worth?
  • Your delivery address and how long you expect to need the container.

With those three answers we can typically name a size, a flat rate, and a delivery window — often same-day — in the same call. No online form, no waiting on a callback, no estimate that changes once someone actually sees the job. That directness is the whole point of dealing with an operator that runs its own fleet instead of routing your job through a middleman. For context on how pricing interacts with placement rules, see our guide to permits in Fort Lauderdale, since a right-of-way permit (when one applies) is a separate municipal cost from your rental quote.

Quick answers

Frequently asked questions

Do you publish set prices for each dumpster size?

No. Real costs depend on material type, weight, rental length, and delivery distance, so we quote by phone based on your actual job rather than posting a generic list that would be inaccurate for many customers.

Is delivery and pickup included in the flat rate?

Yes. Our flat rate bundles delivery, the rental period, pickup, and disposal up to the container's weight allowance into one number agreed before the container leaves our yard.

What makes a quote go up?

The main factors are exceeding the weight allowance, keeping the container well past the agreed rental period, or a placement that requires extra time or access work. We flag any of these possibilities before delivery, not after.

Does it cost more to deliver to Coral Springs or Tamarac than downtown Fort Lauderdale?

Distance from our yard is one factor in the quote, so addresses further from downtown Fort Lauderdale can carry a modest delivery difference. We account for this when we quote your specific address.

How fast can I get an actual number?

Usually in the same phone call. Tell us the material, rough volume, and address, and we can typically name a size, a flat rate, and a delivery slot right then.

Need a dumpster in Fort Lauderdale today?

Tell us what you are clearing out and we will get you the right size, a flat rate, and a driver who can drop it fast. No forms, no waiting on a quote email — just call.
